CAS Institute of Microbiology develops HTS procedure for 1-deoxynojirimycin screening

1-Deoxynojirimycin (1-DNJ) is an alkaloid obtained from mulberry, some plants and microorganisms. It is used for the treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes, HIV infections, Gaucher diseases and other diseases. The group of TANG Yan has developed an HTS assay for 1-DNJ which is based on its inhibition of LacS, allowing for a blue-white screening.
