Team at CAS provides comprehensive genetic analysis on soybean domestication and improvement, 302 lineages studied

The groups of Zhixi TIAN and Wen WANG from CAS Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology and the CAS Kunming Institute of Zoology investigated a total of 302 wild, landrace and cultivated soybean lines at average coverage depth of > 11x for each line. Bioinformatic analysis revealed a total of 121 and 109 selective sweeps during soybean domestication and improvements. QTL analysis showed that 96 of 230 selected regions correlated with oil production.
