CAS SIBS Shanghai identifies Clostridium pathway for xylose induction

The group around Weihong JIANG identified a three-component system which is responsible for D-xylose sensing and transport in Clostridium beijerinckii. Using bioinformatic analysis, a system composed of XylFII-LytS-YesN was identified for signal transduction in the presence of xylose, inducing xylose uptake and metabolism.
