The consumption of narcotics is generally on the rise and considered grim. Half of the drug abusers are under age 35. Medical drug abuse is low and declining, but synthetic drug consumption, with a preference for “ice” (metamphetamine) is 80 % of total and rose 42 % over the last five years, wheras the consumption of heroin is on decline.
