Hong Kong team develops antifreeze technology for flowers and citrus products at minus 7 °C

The group around Lian CAIMEI at a Hong Kong Lixin HUANG Jiong XI Foundation developed a technology based on enhanced expression of ACBP6, an acyl-binding protein. The experiments whose results have been patented were done with Arabidopsis model plants but are expected to be used in ornamental flowers and citrus fruits.
