CAS QIBEBT develops Raman-based procedure to monitor starch content in single microalgae cells

Using the Raman-activated cell sorter developed by the institute, measurement of the Raman peak intensity at 478 cm-1 and comparing to standard procedures for starch analysis showed that starch content of living cells of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and Chlorella pyrenoidosa could be reliable determined by Raman spectroscopy.
