CAS Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health develop ALS mini-pigs

In collaboration with CAS Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, researchers around Liangxue LAI developed Tibet mini-pig mutants which will develop amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) within a few months. To this end, a mutant human SOD1 gene was expressed using somatic cell nuclear transfer. The pigs will be used to study the mechanism and therapy of this disease.
