Mongolian company develops desert-greening business model based on Spirulina

Inner Mongolia Biomass Generation Co. (内蒙古毛乌素生物质热电有限公司) has over 10 years developed a „three carbon economy model“ for greening desert land on a scale of 240 km2. At first, Salix desert shrubs were planted.Their wood is used for energy generation, and the flue gas is used to cultivate Spirulina algae as a health food. The project is supported by UNIDO.
