According to data by the national reform commission and the ministry of finance, the growth potential for medical equipment, 42 % of global, is 5-6fold over present level, reaching 53,7 billion USD by 2015. 15.000 Chinese manufacturers had accumulated sales of 200 billion Yuan in 2013. Whereas foreign producers invest 10 % of sales in new product development, Chinese manufacturers are still not innovative enough. A special support fund of 1.5 billion RMB for vitalization of Chinese medical manufacturing industry has been cleared by the government.
