According to a report from the National People’s Congress, domestic wind power units share more than 90% including key technologies, and photovoltaic cell production accounts for about two-thirds of global output with strong international competitive advantage. By the end of 2012, national hydropower installed capacity was 249 million kW, installed wind power grid was 63 million kW, solar photovoltaic power generation capacity was 6.5 million kW, an area of 258 million m2 was used for solar energy water heaters, 300 million m2 were used for geothermal energy generation, and all kinds of biomass use replaced 30 million tons of standard coal.
