Shandong Power Company to commercialize QIBEBT’s lithium battery cellulose diaphragm

The nanofibrous cellulose composite membrane prepared by electrospinning followed by a dip-coating process developed by Dr Guanglei CUI at CAS Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Biotechnology (QIBEBT) will be commercially developed by Shandong Power Supply Co., 山东威能环保电源有限公司. A pertinent contract was signed on April 1, 2013. The biomass-derived membrane has good electrolyte seepage and security properties, heat resistance is high, and battery and cycle performance is much better than of current polyolefin membranes.
