Zhejiang Tianhe Environmental Technology Co. and CAS Ningbo Institute of Materials Engineering and Technology form joint center for composite material technology research

Preferred raw material is carbon bamboo fiber, but cotton stalks might also replace the corn starch presently in use. Apart from pollution issues, the bamboo composite material has less moisture content (4 %). The new material is already investigated by a Wuxi mobile phone producer as a packaging material.
