Prof. TAN Tianwei’s group at Beijing University of Chemical Technology develops cellulose-degrading yeast based on mini-cellulosome surface-display

The engineered S. cerevisiae degraded carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), phosphoric acid-swollen cellulose (PASC), or Avicel. Activity toward microcrystalline cellulose led to an ethanol titer of 1,412 mg/L.
