Researchers at CAS Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter develop lanthanide-doped nanoparticles as carriers for biomarker analysis

Professor CHEN Xueyuan and colleagues developed amine-doped nanoparticles, 5 nm in diameter, based on europium- or terbium-doped zirconium IV propoxide. As these nanoparticles show strong FRET behavior, they could be used to attach probes to their amino groups, binding to biomarker compounds
