North China Pharmaceuticals reports breakthrough in enzymatic process for cephalexin synthesis

Cephalexin is one of the major products of the company. After two years of R&D, substitution of the chemical by an enzymatic synthetic route has led to a product whose quality conforms to the standards of pharmacopoeia. Energy consumption in the enzymatic process is lower.
